É difícil dizer com antecedência quem serão os vencedores do BET Awards 2013. Drake liderou as indicações, ganhando 12 indicações (apesar de não aparecer, já que Chris Brown estará lá), seguido por Kendrick Lamar e 2 Chainz.

Mas a primeira pessoa a levar para casa um prêmio esta noite (30 de junho) foi Miguel de Melhor Artista Masculino de R&B/Pop. Nicki Minaj ganhou o prêmio de Melhor Artista Feminina de Hip Hop, e Kendrick Lamar saiu com Melhor Artista Masculino de Hip Hop e Melhor Novo Artista.
